They dig deep nests in the warm sand, lay their precious eggs, and return to the sea, leaving behind the next generation buried beneath the dunes. For two months, those nests incubate under the Florida sun, protected by volunteers who mark each site, count each hatchling, and celebrate every tiny turtle that makes it to the waves.
